think about it

You may as well quit reading and hearing the Word of God, and give it to the devil, if you do not desire to live according to it. — Martin Luther

changing church

Changes coming
Yesterday we changed our church gathering.
No big deal, just changed the seating to be more intimate, in a semi-circle.
No stage, just me standing at a table at the open end of the semi-circle.
The time of worship was in simple format too, voices and acoustic guitar, again no stage.
I welcomed everyone to God’s living room.
People were invited to gather in groups and discuss questions together like ‘why are you here?’ and ‘what do you like about church?’ and ‘what frustrates you about church?’
The chairs were moved, people interacted, connected, it was great!
The message was interactive, participatory.
People could share prayer requests or expressions of thanks or praise.
Coffee and refreshments were available through the whole gathering.
I loved it, I sensed the Spirit moving in a new a different way.
Anyone else have some feedback?
