Keep looking up!

THE STORY OF JESUS: Mark 13:24-27
“People will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.” (Mark 13:26)
Jesus now shifts His focus to the last days when He will return.
He quotes Isaiah 13:10 (or Isaiah 34:4), the final judgment, the “day of the Lord”.
The day is coming when Jesus will return and make things right.
“Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him” (Revelation 1:7)
If we think this life is hard, wait until the day when God finally unleashes justice.
The point of this is not revenge or payback, this is meant to encourage persecuted believers.
Keep looking up, even when you suffer, even when you are persecuted, even when you are dying.
Stay focused on Jesus, He will have the last word, He will restore all things – and you!
It may be difficult to hang on to Jesus when your world is crashing around you.
But hang on anyway – desperate faith is still better than despair and defeat.
The “day of the Lord” is coming, you will see Jesus again, and He knows your name!
“I know my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth. I myself will see him with my own eyes. How my heart yearns within me!” (Job 19:25-27)
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, when life gets tough, when doubt seems strong, when suffering keeps coming, I find strength when I look up to You. Come soon Lord!

    Thy Kingdom come.
My Father. My help comes from You. At all times I need to look up. At the end of time people wil see You coming to regain Your Kingdom in full yet in the meantime as I live for Jesus I need to see Your presence now.
Many people have the downward look but we all need the upward look for that is where our Help comes from – today and always.
God gathers His own at the end of times but in the meantime He gives His people strength for the challenges of the day. Take hold of Him and pull. He enables me to live for Him.

    1. God gives His people strength.
If we believe in His way, He’s swift to repay
All those who bear the burden of the day
    God gives His people strength.

    2. God gives His people hope
If we but trust in His word, our prayers are always heard
He warmly welcomes anyone who’s erred.
    God gives His people hope.

    3. God gives His people love
If we but open wide our hearts, He’s sure to do His part
He’s always the first to make a start.
    God gives His people love.

    4. God gives His people peace.
When sorrow fills us to the brim, and courage grows dim
He lays to rest our restlessness in Him.
    God gives His people peace.
