Journal Entry #55

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Psalm 55

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“But as for me, I trust in you.” (Psalm 55:23)
This is more like a Journal entry than a song.
David is enduring the bitterness of betrayal, and he is venting with God.
His pen and prayer become his outlet for his inner turmoil.
I have had journal entries that have had similar raw, emotional venting.
I have never been betrayed like this, but I do share with David his hope in the Lord.
This is what motivates my journaling, I am trusting Him as I express my heart.
Too often we let worry churn in our hearts and minds, but we don’t release them.
They hold power over us when we bottle them in, they overwhelm our hope and joy.
As a Jesus follower, I am thankful for my time with the Lord in my journal.
Especially thought this pandemic, it has helped me process what I am feeling.
As I talk things through with him, he guides my thoughts and feelings for the better.
‘Oh, what peace we often forfeit, Oh, what needless pain we bear.
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer!’
Are you processing your thoughts and feelings with the Lord, or carrying them alone?
PRAYER
Lord, I cannot control my circumstances, but I can keep them from controlling me. Help me to continue to share my joys and struggles with You, so that You can help me rise up over all that happens in my life!

  1. Today is a new day of our Lord. A new day with new challenges. God is with me. I share all things of this day with Him . He is my pilot. He is my Confidant. I am in His hands and this day as is every day is the Lord’s day. He is my Source of strength and power and I walk in His SonShine every day, walking and talking and praising God.

    When we walk with the Lord
    In the light of His Word,
    What a glory He sheds on our way;
    While we do His good will,
    He abides with us still,
    And with all who will trust and obey.

  2. Cast your cares on the Lord
    and he will sustain you;
    he will never let
    the righteous be shaken.
    The enemy of anxiety can harass me as well from time to time! When I look back I can see how the Lord has sustained me – even when I’ve felt betrayed. He sustains me now and he will sustain me in the future. Lord, I trust – help me to trust more fully and cast all my cares on you! May your spirit and word guide me each day as I walk with you!
