Walking in the light

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Psalm 56

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“I may walk before God in the light of life.” (Psalm 56:13)
We were made to live without pain or loss, without fear or death.
We were made to be loved, not to be attacked or slandered or betrayed.
David finds himself under attack, but he hangs on to God for dear life.
This can be my experience, and my hope, too.
Obviously all of us experience some kind of darkness in our life.
Physical, mental, social and spiritual health issues plague us all.
This is NOT the way things are supposed to be!
We were made to live and walk with God in the light of life.
And as long as we remain disconnected from God, we cannot enjoy that life.
God sees us in our misery, and steps in to help us.
In Jesus we see the light of God’s love and life, and He offers it to us.
As a Jesus follower, I still experience hardship, pain, betrayal and death.
But because of Jesus, none of these things can separate me from God’s love!
By grace I walk with Jesus in the light of life… no one can take that from me!
PRAYER
Lord, life can be dark and dreary in this world. But You bring light and hope and life. Thank You for brightening my day!

  1. God’s SonShine.
Walking in the Light every day for every day is a day of the Lord.
Today I go forward trusting Him.
Know God. No fear in days like theses.
God is the Ruler and He has kept my feet from falling.
He is the Rock of my salvation and keeps me serving Him from day to day.

You are the rock of my salvation.
You are the strength of my life.
You are my hope and my inspiration.
Lord unto You will I cry.
I believe in you, believe in you.
For your faithful love to me.
    You have been my help
    in time of need.
Lord unto You will I cleave.

You are the rock of my salvation.
You are the strength of my life.
You are my hope and my inspiration.
Lord unto You will I cry.

  2. For you have delivered me from death
    and my feet from stumbling,
that I may walk before God
    in the light of life.
David came close to death a number of times! It made me think of times when I came close to death – a near miss of a catastrophic accident – how God prevented me from death. When I think of where I have been and what I’ve done – God protected me and enabled me. So if that is the case in the past – I know it to be true today and into the future. Help me Lord to walk confidently -in the light of life – the light of Jesus my Lord!
